My sister got married a couple of months ago and one of my tasks was to find someone to make her wedding cake. It was a simple sponge three tiered cake so I was shocked to find quotes of around £500!
You add wedding onto something and I swear they add an extra nought on the end! If you want to do it yourself and fancy something unique then how about a Cheese Celebration Cake?! Quite literally a cake of cheese! I have found a cracking deal for a tiered cheese celebration cake over at Costco!
This fab cake is made entirely from blocks of cheese! The cheese is made from Dorset Cheese at Ford Farm in Dorchester. It is priced at £149.99 as part of Costco's Hot Buys and is suitable for 100-140 guests.
There's 10kg of cheese included, which when towered up would look very impressive at your wedding breakfast! The cheese's that are included are:
- Billie’s Goat Heart, 150g D81mm x H34mm
- Wensleydale & Cranberry, 400g D100mm x H50mm
- Dorset Red Triangle, 1.1kg, D160mm x 175mm x H50mm
- Blue Stilton Round, 1.25kg, D220mm x H90mm
- Coastal Cheddar, 6.5kg, D260mm x H90mm
You will need to assemble the tower yourself or have someone at your venue do this for you. There are no decorations included but a few sprigs of flowers would look just wonderful and would keep the costs down.
The cheese needs to stay refrigerated and will have at least 21 days shelf life. You can select the day that your cheese cake is delivered so it stays as fresh as possible for your guests. The reviews are fantastic for this celebration cake, many saying how tasty it was, how well it was packaged and what fantastic quality it was. From looking around this is one of the cheapest Cheese Celebration Cakes around!
Home delivery is FREE on this item. If you aren't a Costco member then you will incur an additional 4% charge.
