Oh boy. If your kids are at all interested in space this is one heck of a treat for them, and it will cost you absolutely nothing. NASA are inviting the public to have their names sent on the next Mars mission, and you even get a personalised boarding pass and frequent flyer miles!
Just click the link below to get your name added to the mission, and to view and save your own personalised boarding pass.
This is something that is going to spark those little imaginations, as although no humans are accompanying the Mars 2020 Rover mission, the names submitted will be physically etched onto a microchip, so their names will be on another planet!
My children have always been fascinated by space, and they already have their names on the Mars Insight Lander from NASA's previous event like this. They also have their names heading towards the asteroid Bennu on NASA's Osiris Rex spacecraft, so this will be their third mission into space!
It's a brilliant way to get kids to engage with science, as they can follow the spacecraft's progress and track where there name is in space, counting down until it gets to Mars.
You have until 30th September 2019 to get your name added to the Mars 2020 Rover mission, and you can find out lots of information about the mission and it's aims here.
