So, to claim your free week, click on the link above. On the top right, enter the code and you'll be prompted to register. You need to be a new user, and can't already have a Xbox Live Membership. You need to enter among other things your email address. Make sure you use a Gmail address - if you use .co.uk or similar, you may not receive your confirmation as it doesn't seem to work well for non Gmail addresses.
The Xbox Live Gold membership allows you to play games online with friends and enjoy movies, music and sports on Xbox One and Xbox 360 including Internet Explorer and Netflix, but not everything that's available to Gold members will be available either. It's a freebie though, so enjoy it while you have it!
