What is it about yo-yo’s that makes them so much fun? Even now as an adult I can stand there for ages just trying to see how long I can keep the little round thing going up and down a piece of string. I was always dead envious of those other kids who were able to do tricks with theirs. The most I could do was the ‘walk the dog’ one; hardly spectacular. To really get going with a yo-yo though, you want a proper one. Like this Yomega Fireball, available for £4.99 at Amazon (usual price is £9.99) with free delivery.
Yomega design their yo-yo’s for those who want to do the fancy tricks, and the record breaking spins. According to the manufactuer it has a ‘patented transaxle system that pioneered the age of modern yo-yos’. I have no idea what that means, but I do know from playing with my step son’s Yomega yo-yo’s that it makes for a much more balanced, smoother and far easier to control spin. The yo-yo comes with a bonus trick book, and extra string. It is available in three colours – red, green and blue, but there’s no way to determine which colour you’ll be getting. If you’re looking for an education spin on this, playing with a yo-yo is apparently great for developing hand-eye co-ordination. We’ve also found the same deal (£4.99 delivered) over at Play.com.
