This looks like a simple, but entertaining, toy. The VTech Pink Pop-Up Surprise Ball has been reduced by Argos from £10.99 to £3.99. Collect for free from a store, or have it delivered for £5.95.
Who doesn't love flashing lights and surprises? Most babies I've met sure do. You can make their play time fun and educational with this charming pink surprise circular pop-up ball. Well at least that's what it says on the website. But isn't just about everything a baby does or plays with at this age educational? I mean you'd have to really keep the baby in a sterile environment to stop them from actually learning anything.
What this Pink Pop-Up Surprise Ball does have are pretty kitten features that teach animal names as well as a light up star that plays sweet music. Again I'd take issue with the fact that the ball teaches anything - it is an inanimate object with a few functions that rely on repetition for the child to pick anything up. People teach; objects are tools. I am probably expecting too much from simple marketing material though.
You press the light-up star to play peek-a-boo with the puppy. Press the buttons to hear animal names, fun responses and music. Batteries are required - but also included. You need 2 x AA batteries to make it go. It is suitable for ages 3 months and over.
