Boys in particular, but of course girls too (I know I loved this stuff), love building things. And taking them apart. And building again! This set is recommended for ages 3 plus. I am not sure why they pick these particular ages, probably to cover themselves as they have small bits that could be swallowed. Yet if you've got, say, a two year old as well you're hardly likely to be able to keep them totally separated from their older siblings toys!
This chunky building kit from The Early Learning Centre is a build your own plane construction set. It contains 17 pieces and includes a chunky power drill, drill bits and screw driver. According to the website "it will encourage hand-eye co-ordination as well as confidence".
