The first ever Bluey movie has just been announced!

Bluey fans, time to get excited as it has been confirmed that a Bluey movie is coming soon! You have to wait until 2027 but we couldn't be more excited about it and we know so many of you will be thrilled at the news too!

BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company announced Tuesday the first-ever animated feature film for Bluey.

According to the companies, the CGI-animated film will “continue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo.”

The movie will be written and directed by series creator Joe Brumm, with a voice cast led by the series’ regulars, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack.

Bluey creator Joe Brumm said:

“I really enjoyed the experience of working with a longer format on ‘The Sign’ in Series 3, so going even further with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that. I’ve always thought ‘Bluey’ deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together. I’m excited to continue to partner with Cecilia Persson, Tom Fussell and the team at BBC Studios, and Dana Walden, Alan Bergman and Disney to bring this new ‘Bluey’ story to the big screen.”

The film will premiere in cinemas worldwide in 2027, followed by streaming on Disney+.

Bluey debuted in 2018 and has quickly become one of the most adored shows on television, often winning praise for it’s refreshing and emotional storytelling, which has been known to reduce parents to tears and creating fans young and old.
