It's been said by millennials that the way to judge inflation is by the cost of a Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo. Back in the 90's this chocolate treat was never more than 10p but over the last few years the price has risen to a whopping 25p causing outrage! However Sainsbury's shoppers who have a Nectar card can get the froggy bar for just 10p for the first time in 19 years!
The last time you could buy the Cadbury product for 10p was back in 2005, a whopping 19 years ago and since then the price has increased by
roughly 2p a year.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Cadbury, Sainsbury’s customers with a Nectar card will be able to save money on Cadbury products from April 17th.
The supermarket promotion sees the price of a Freddo reduced back down to 10p, and there will also be big savings on Dairy Milk (£1 with Nectar, £1.65 without) and Cadbury Milk Trays (£3 with Nectar, £6.50 without).
Other chocolate favourites will have their prices slashed with Nectar prices including Mini Rolls, Chocolate Fingers, Flakes, and Curly Wurly multipacks.
The offers will only be available for a limited time between April 17th and May 7th so make sure you are quick if you want to get your hands on a cheap Freddo or two!
