It's Summer so it's only right we fire up the BBQ and head to Aldi and pick up their HUGE Tomahawk Steak! Yes, it's back in store in time for the August Bank Holiday weekend and it's even cheaper than Lidl's version!
This 100% British beef Tomahawk steak hits Aldi stores from the 22nd August. Pay just £12.99 per kilo for the Tomahawk steak which is a heck of a lot cheaper than you would find elsewhere! Lidl are selling theirs for £14.99 per kilo. Waitrose also sells its own tomahawk steak for £26.99 per kg, so you’ll save £14 per kg if you shop at Aldi.
So what is a Tomahawk steak? It's a large cut of Rib-Eye Beef (my favourite cut!) and comes on the bone. It is well known for being very large, succulent and full of flavour due to it's marbling and the fact it is cooked on the bone.
How do I cook a Tomahawk Steak? Aldi says the huge steak is best served pan seared and rested for 15 minutes.
Never fear if the weather doesn't stay dry, you could easily have this served up as part of a roast over the weekend too!
Enjoy!
