Mention scone and the first question you get is jam first or cream first?! Well worry no more as Marks and Spencer have combined the two with their very own Strawberry Clotted Cream! I cannot wait to try this!
Combining milk from Guernsey and Jersey cows, the silky cream has been combined with sweet strawberry compote and mini fruity pieces. Hailing from Langage Farm in Devonshire –masters of clotted cream for over 40 years – this will be the first strawberry clotted cream the farm has ever made, exclusively for M&S.
M&S Collection Strawberry Clotted Cream is available nationwide instore at M&S for £2.50 (200g).
It not only promises to be a game-changer for scones, but we can imagine it sandwiched in a Victoria sponge with some fresh strawberries too!
M&S said: 'Whether you do it the Cornish way or the Devonshire way, the age-old debate of what to top a scone with first, often results in a heated debate over a cup of Earl Grey. Until now!
'M&S introduces
the first ever product to silence both parties, by combining jam with
clotted cream and making one ultimate afternoon tea delight.'
April Preston, Director of Product Development at M&S, said in the release: “Jam first or cream first? There’s no doubt this question makes for a healthy debate amongst cream tea fans up and down the country. I’m a proud Devonian, so up until now I’ve always slathered my cream on first, before adding jam. Now, all I need is our Collection Strawberry Clotted Cream to have the best of both worlds; it is quite simply heaven on a scone. ”
I cannot wait to get my hands on this!
