There are all sorts of things that might inspire your choice of baby name, but for actress Rosamund Pike, her labour experience was a key factor in what influenced the name she chose for her second baby.
The Daily Mail reports:
After giving birth to her first son Solo in 2012, the Gone Girl star, 36, went on to have another boy in December with Old Etonian adventurer and reformed heroin addict Robie Uniacke.
Sticking to the singular theme, I hear that the couple have called their newborn Atom because Rosamund found her home birth ‘so easy and elemental’, according to a friend.
The couple already have a two-year-old son called Solo.
Kudos to Rosamund for unashamedly declaring that her birth was 'easy' - I'm sure she'll get plenty of stick for that, and there'll be those who criticise her for departing from the usual narrative expected of new mums.
And yes, it's a quirky name for a kid but c'mon, would we really expect any less from a celebrity mum these days?
Did you have an 'easy' or 'elemental' birth? And have you found that people tend to prefer hearing about birth 'horror' stories? We'd love to hear your views over on our Facebook page.
