We know that everyone is mostly worried about health just now, but it would be naive to suggest that money isn't on our minds too. With rail travel taken out as an option for many just now, you may be wondering if you can get your money back on advance rail tickets and/or season tickets. The answer is YES!
Refund On Advance Rail Tickets
The government have put in new temporary measures that applies to all rail operators, which mean that advance tickets will be eligible for a free-of-charge refund, and season ticket holders will be able to claim a partial refund for unused time too.
To get your refund, simply contact the rail operator that has sold them their ticket.
Train travel will still be available for key workers and all essential travel continue to operate. It is strongly recommended that other passengers should not travel. Services available will be reduced heavily from today (23rd March 2020).
Full details of the COVID-19 disruption to rail travel measures can be found here.
