The best, most time saving device I ever invested in when I became a parent was a really decent vacuum. OK it wasn't a Dyson, but after using a friend's one while staying her house (and being the good guest) I have to say I'm smitten. It is easy to use, but mostly I loved being able to simply tip out the contents of the canister with ease as soon as I finished. There is no expiry. I called Comet to check and was 
told that simply, they'll run it, as long as Dyson allow them to. Delivery is free on the vacuums. If you do have it delivered to your home, you'll need to take the old vacuum cleaner along to a store at a later point under your own steam.
