Play are selling this Numberjacks Counting Down to Christmas DVD for £2.99 - making it a rather nice little pre-Christmas 'something' to get youngsters in the mood whilst improving their number skills at the same time.
If you have NO clue who the Numberjacks are, here's a quick Numberjacks 101.
The Numberjacks are ten small superhero numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 who, for some reason that I still cannot work out, live inside a sofa! They just hang out there, doing 'stuff', whilst they wait for a child Agent to call them from the 'outside' and report a maths problem that needs solving.
One, or two, of the Numberjacks then rush to the outside world to investigate and must work out how to put things right, thwarting the big bad Meanies intent on causing number chaos.
Inevitably the Numberjacks always win the day and go back to their sofa where they wait patiently for the next emergency call to come in!
Now I wasn't sure about the Numberjacks when I first watched it with my youngest son, Edward, but I have to tell you, it's strangely compelling; it captivated his young mind and I'm sure has something to do with his absolute love, and rather incredible grasp of, numbers.
In this Numberjacks Counting Down to Christmas DVD, the Numberjack superheros embark on missions to stop the Meanies from ruining Christmas!
