Play.com has a ‘mega sale’ on at the moment, and one of the items on offer is the Leapfrog Junior Tag Reader. The title says it’s pink, but the image shows a purple one, so I’m not sure which you’ll receive if you buy this, but it is a pretty good price and worth the gamble if you’re after ‘girl’ colours. You’ll save yourself £10.50 and there’s free delivery too.
We reviewed the Tag Junior on PlayPennies last year, when it was still pretty new and it is a pretty great gadget, designed to encourage toddlers to explore books.
The Tag Junior introduces preschool skills through fun stories and playful book based activities. Children touch the Tag Junior to specially printed pages and hear their favourite characters speak and the words or images on the pages spoken aloud. Each book introduces a different preschool skill, like the alphabet, counting or social play through 24 playful activities and more than 130 audio responses.
The Tag Junior Book can store up to five books, which you download from the website (after purchasing the books) and allows children to go from one story to another easily.
The book “If I Were” is included in this box with the Reader, which works on books suitable for children 2 – 4 years old.
