I've reserved this Chad wooden Chess and Draughts set; I was going to buy the traditional wooden games set I wrote about a little while ago, but am glad I didn't as I prefer the look of this one.

I play a mean game of chess and really love unplugging from technology to play it with my husband or eldest son - I'm looking forward to teaching my youngest son to play too.

I used to play draughts with my dad for Smarties and oooooh did I get cross when he used to beat me; I was never just allowed to win because I was younger, I was taught to earn my win and that meant losing, a LOT, first.

Now, strangely, this wooden chess and draughts set doesn't come with any instructions (how mad is that!) so if you don't know how to play then you'll need to do a quick bit of scouting around on the internet; the pieces come in plastic bags too and a lot of reviewers have commented how much better the set would have been if they were in proper drawstring pouches - so you might want to think about that too.

Other than that, most people think it's pretty much perfect.
