I was reading yesterday that the Sega Megadrive Mini is being brought out in October. They say it's to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog's 25th birthday, but we think it's because Nintendo are releasing a mini console around the same time. You can pre-order those here*.
The truth is I can't choose between a NES and a Megadrive. Both have a special place in my heart. However, it didn't stop me reaching for my debit card when I discovered that you can already buy a regular size Sega Megadrive preloaded with 80 games!
Argos on eBay sell it and it's only £49.99. That's a freakin' bargain in my eyes for something that will keep me, I mean the kids, amused for hours on end.
The Sega Megadrive is a 'plug and play' type of console, so it's super easy to set up. That means that you don't need to have it set up and out all the time.
You get the 16-bit gaming unit, two controllers, power plug and T.V adaptor.
What games are already preloaded? It would take us all day to list them all but I can tell you that all the best Sonic games are on there, along with the Golden Axe series, Mortal Kombat and Streets of Rage. That's only a fraction of them!
You can Click and Collect the Sega Megadrive with 80 Games for FREE from an Argos near you or pay £3.95 to have it delivered to your door.
Don't bother. This is made by AtGames whose a crappy Chinese company whereas the Mini NES will be produced by Nintendo themselves. Also, it'll have HDMI support.
