Fed up of Chocolate Advent Calendars but don't want to spend £££'s on those toy filled ones in the shops? We have some brilliant Advent Calendar Ideas for the kids, that won't cost you a fortune.
Crackers
Use bargain basement crackers* and number each one OR make your own crackers and fill them with toys, jokes or whatever else you like. Your child can snap one open each day of Advent.
Balloons
Buy a 24 pack of balloons, pop a surprise inside each one and inflate. Grab some pens or stickers and put a number on them from 1 to 24.
Wrapped Books
Places like The Works* or The Book People* are a great way to pick up nice books for this one. Wrap up all 24 and let your child open one each day of Advent and read it at bedtime.
Day Out/Rewards
Get 24 pieces of card and write a reward on or promise a day out/activity for that day, stuff each one in an envelope and let your little one open with excitement.
LEGO
This is one you can do with LEGO you have in the house already, or you can go out and buy some. Each day, your child will pick an envelope or pouch containing LEGO and a piece of paper with a word on it. They must make whatever it says using the blocks included for that day.
Odd Socks
It's amazing how exciting a Washing Line and 24 Odd Socks can be. Stuff each sock with a little surprise for your child to discover. The beauty is you can fill each one with whatever you like.
