Know anyone aged 50 or over? Scotrail are offering FREE Club 50 railcards to any UK resident aged 50 or over. Like any other railcard, this entitles you to discounted rail travel. As it's provided from Scotrail, it only covers travel within Scotland. People in the rest of the UK shouldn't be put off though, as it's handy for those of you that holiday in Scotland. You only have until 31st August to sign up to this FREE card, after that it'll cost £15 to join!
Club 50 is launched on 14th September, but you can sign up now, using the link below. As part of the launch offer, you will not only save £15 on the cost of the railcard, but you get the introductory offer of introductory offer of £10 return travel throughout Scotland.

Members will also be issued with a ScotRail Club 50 Smartcard when they sign up. Plans are in place to load tickets onto Smartcards from 2016, which will remove the need for members to carry separate tickets.

club 50 appears to have had its teething problems - overall the discount is welcome . The free drink should be removed as it causes more bad press than it's worth. Embarrassing to have half the cup poured out because the free one is not a full cup!
