If you are in or around Manchester this weekend, pop down to Salford Quays for a free family fun day, as the whole area gets turned into a pirate adventure ground.
Presenters from CBeebies - including Dr Ranj, Cerrie Burnell, Mister Maker, Sid & Rebecca from Let's Play among others - will lead two days of free entertainment in preparation for their Christmas-time pantomime.
The family activities will run alongside the filming of the CBeebies Christmas Show,As part of the BBC Learning event, the tall ship, The Glaciere, will be docked in Salford Quays over the weekend when it will become the ‘CBeebies Jolly Roger’ allowing families on board.
There will be activities on the boat and on the quayside including storytelling in the cabin, run by Book Trust storytellers, and all featuring pirates, mermaids and adventures under the sea as well as exerts from Peter Pan.
Prates from Captain Hook’s ship will be showing children how to set sail - and families will also get to take part in treasures hunts and learn basic orienteering.
No tickets are required for the events in Salford Dock and the activities will run daily from 10am to 6pm on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11.
