I had to rub my eyes several times before I believed what I saw as the number 1 selling toy on Amazon today. Is it a Fingerling? Nope! A pot of Slime? Nah! It's a Pregnant Doll that comes complete with a baby inside her.
I am being deadly serious - check for yourself here*!
Let me tell you a bit about this "educational (?)" doll. It's called the VWH Pregnant Doll* and sells from as little as £2.39 delivered.
Would you buy what is essentially a pregnant Barbie for your little one? Is it a step too far? I haven't got a problem with it at all, apart from the fact, the baby just pops out with the belly insert. We all know that having a baby is much more strenuous than that.
Now, this isn't marketed as an educational toy at all, and it's rather comical but I guess you could use it as a tool to explain to your child how a baby grows inside a woman and so on.
If you are one of MANY that have or would like to purchase this Baby Momma Doll, then I would definitely ignore the age recommendation on the Amazon page. It's much more suited to children that won't put small parts in their mouth - like the removable baby - and not for those aged 8 months and above!
nothing new. Pregnant dolls have been available for a long time Inc barbie. My children have seen my section scar, know how they are delivered and when about age 10 how normal delivery is. It's how the female body works, nothing to be ashamed or prudish about. they also know they were breast fed but that's another story.
