Every woman (and man) has a thing that they are addicted to. They will keep buying it, even though they have billions of the stuff already. For some it's shoes, others stationery - it's perfume and cosmetics for me. My husband says I am crazy but the man in Debenhams called me a collector. I know which I prefer.
As much as I love to buy the big brands, my purse can't always match my taste. Let's be honest, fragrance prices are getting a little crazy. It got me hunting for Perfume Dupes on the High Street. Forget 'cheap and nasty' - we have found some absolute cracking scents that are dead ringers for the expensive stuff.
Like Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb?
This is a top seller in the UK and it's easy to see why. This fragrance was created with the modern women in mind. Expect to pay a whopping £50 for the 30ml bottle*
Try Zara Black Peony.
It's not exact but if you are a Flowerbomb fan, then you are going to love this. What got me was that, this smells like something you would pay £££'s for not under a tenner. There's one issue - I haven't seen it in Zara for a good while but it does pop up on eBay now and again.
Like Gucci Rush?
It's one of those scents that either suits you or gives you a headache. Fabulous for nights out as it packs a punch and will still smell as good come the morning after. You won't want to wear this everyday as it's £45 for the 30ml bottle*.
Try TFB by Tulisa.
Stop laughing! Seriously - this stuff is a carbon copy of that Gucci scent. You genuinely won't find a closer match. Tulisa might be yesterday's news, but you'll be smiling when you pick up her fragrance out of the 'bargain bucket' down at Semichem* for just £9.99 (50ml gift set).
Like Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey?
If you want to buy someone a perfume and you aren't sure what they would like, then this is as safe as it gets. It's really inoffensive and isn't particularly appealing to a specific age group. This sells for around £52 for the 50ml bottle*.
Try M&S ISIS.
Forget the unfortunate name. I really wish they would change it, but hey, M&S have had this fragrance out for a long time. It is such a close copy of Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Eau de Toilette Spray and at £8 for a 25ml bottle*, we say stockpile it.
Like Marc Jacobs Daisy?
One of the prettiest perfume bottles on the market. It's not just nice to look at - it's one of the bestselling scents in the UK for a reason. As it's distinctive and rather different from other fragrances out there, you can understand the £54 price tag*.
Try M&S Butterfly.
Now the bottle is a bit of a letdown compared to MJ's Daisy but inside is a different story. It's beyond nice and for £6.50* it's an absolute steal for using everyday. Trust me, no-one is going to know the difference.
Like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle?
The Chanel scent that's popular with the twenty and thirty-somethings. You either love it or you hate it, but one thing's for sure, you will have smelt it before. This fragrance is a popular one, and once it hits your nose, you know exactly what it is. Prices start from £49*.
Try Lidl Suddenly by Madame Glamour.
They say it's a dupe, in fact it hit the headlines as 'the £4 Perfume that Smells As Good As Chanel's £70 Scent'. That led many people to try it out. Do I agree that it's as good? Hmm... for the first ten minutes yes, then it's dries down into a cheaper smelling fragrance that isn't so appealing. It is only £4, though.
Like Ralph Lauren Romance?
A classic scent from RL, one that's pink in colour and super feminine in smell. If you dig floral scents, then chances are this is your one and only fragrance. It doesn't come cheap if you're wearing it everyday - £42 for 30ml bottle*.
Try Next Just Pink.
Oh it's good! Like real good! Next have been selling Just Pink for a long time now and it's successful in it's own right. Does it smell like Romance? Oh hell yes and it's just £8 for 30ml*.
Like Marc Jacobs Lola?
Another popular scent by MJ in a fantastically flowery bottle. At £49 for the 50ml bottle*, I doubt you'll do anything but keep this for best.
Try Bella by Primark.
It's £6 for a 50ml bottle - that's £43 cheaper than Lola. As it's well under a tenner, you can literally douse yourself in it. Not an exact match but probably as good as you're going to get on the High Street.
Like Paco Rabanne Lady Million?
This uber glam bottle of spritz was on many a Christmas List, last year. I have smelt quite a few 'copies' of this and all have been rancid. You have two choices: buy the real deal at £39 a bottle* or see our dupe below.
Try Zara Woman Gold.
This is the ultimate perfume dupe. Seriously, you will not find better. It's only £15.99 for a 100ml*. Even the bottle looks great. To be honest, this smells amazing, is long-lasting and affordable. What's not to love?
Try Lidl simply diamonds smells a lot like Georgio Armani Si.
Try Police The sinner for women exactly the same as Alien Thierry Mugler
Oh amazingg info I was just trying some zara perfumes the other day have to say they are amazing and well worth every penny.
