It is January. You probably already noticed that. Hard to miss it when all the telltale signs are there. Grey skies, dark afternoons and empty bank accounts. Another clue is all the signs up announcing January sales. Although that's not quite as much an indicator as it used to be. Nowadays, the January sales seem to start in December.
However, for many of us snapping up sale bargains is hard as everything goes on Christmas and we're left staring at brass tacks until payday comes around again.
There is still hope though. As we come to the end of the sales anything that is left may be going in the super clearance bargain basement! Also, there are stores that refresh stock in the sale section each week, and others that don't start their sales until further into January. Here's a roundup of the big retailers of baby stuff who are still running sales.
Amazon Baby Special Offers
My first stop when looking to buy anything online is always Amazon. They might not turn out to be the cheapest, but they often are, and as they sell so many different items, they work out as a good baseline for prices. At the moment the site has just over 100 items left in its January deals Baby* section.
For example there is this Philips combined blender and steamer, reduced by nearly half from £99 to £51.99. And delivery is free.
Argos Nursery Price Cuts
There are thousands of items in the Argos Nursery Price Cuts section*. Or at least, that's according to the website itself. I personally didn't take the time to count them. The sale offers discounts of up to half price, although most seem to be around the 20% level.
Examples include this Koochi Roadrunner pushchair, reduced by 50% from £74.99 to £37.49. There's also reductions in nursery furniture, and maternity.
Babies R Us Promotional Offers
Where would be without Babies R Us? There's just somethign about being able to go to a big warehouse of baby stuff. I get the same kick out of going to those huge retail estate sized Mothercare stores.
The Babies R Us Promotional Offers *section includes discounts on hundreds of items from all its sections. For example you could get £50 off Tommee Tippee Video Move Monitor, or £125 off a JIG pushchair, carrycot, carseat and footmuff.
Early Learning Centre Sale & Offers
The Early Learning Centre Sale & Offers* still has up to half price sale on toys and games. Delivery on the site is free when you spend £50 or more. As far as I know, the Early Learning Centre does not allow for delivery to store.
Deals include this Blossom Farm 2 in 1 baby gym, at half price marked down from £40 to £20.
John Lewis
Unfortunately the sales seem to be all over for John Lewis, but it can still be worth checking out their Special Offers section for baby and children's clothing. Lots of items in here reduced to clear, and many are winter items too. I especially like their warm, knitted clothing. And I've bought some boot socks from here for my son.
Kiddicare January Clearance
The Kiddicare January Clearance* section still has a considerable level of stock in it. Over 700 when I last looked. I think you might have to really dig to find some of the massive reductions, but there's still good bargains. Such as a Graco Symbio B pushchairreduced by 41% from the RRP of £429.99 to £249.99.
Mamas & Papas 50% Off
The Mamas & Papas* 50% off sale is still going. Items are reduced by half price in nearly all the departments including furniture, interior collections, maternity clothes, and toys. Delivery on the site is free if you spend more than £50
Bagging a bargain
What was the best bargain you got in the January sales (and yes that includes the sales that actually started in December!)
