It's November and that can only mean one thing. Christmas telly ads are here!
Have you seen the M&S Christmas 2017 advert - Paddington and the Christmas visitor? What did you think?
If you loved it, you can nab your own Paddington Bear Plush Toy for £12 from Marks and Spencer now. Or shop the whole Marks and Spencer Paddington Bear range here. The Kids Paddington Slippers (£12-£14) are especially gorgeous, and I love this adorable Paddington onesie (£21-£25).
Looks like Kevin the Carrot is back for Aldi's Christmas 2017 advert too! And good news for Kevin lovers – Kevin and Katie will be on sale in store from 23rd November, so you'll be able to get one of each this year!
We must be due the first airing of the John Lewis Christmas advert any time soon?!
I reckon they'll surprise us with it somehow this year, since the retail giant's annual telly add has become a Christmas 'thing' in itself.
Check out this mysterious Twitter account @UnderTheBed2017 which everyone seems to think is a teaser for the soon-to-be-released John Lewis 2017 Christmas advert.
We've had The Long Wait (the one where the little boy impatiently counts down the days until Christmas, only to end up being excited about giving rather than getting), The Journey (that snowman... sob...), The Bear and the Hare (the one where they used the song 'Somewhere only we know') and Monty the Penguin. Then more recently there was The Man In The Moon and last year's cracker, Buster the Boxer.
So I'm going to stick my neck out and say that I reckon this year's offering will be a bit of a departure from last year's. No animals. Animation, maybe.
I reckon they'll go for something life-affirming and uplifting rather than a tear-jerker this year – Lord knows we all need some cheering up right now.
Then there's the question of the theme song. It's likely to be a cover that'll end up topping the charts so you'll be humming it from here to Christmas Day. I've heard a rumour that it might be a George Michael classic. *Sob*
Is it sad that I'm actually excited to see this ad? I've even got some wine chilling on the off-chance that they spring it on us during an ad break at peak telly-viewing time tonight!
