Every year we get a lot of requests for advent calendars that are suitable for those who have specific dietary needs like dairy free, sugar free and gluten free diets. We have looked around and have found what we think are the best value, and where you can get them.
Moo Free Advent Calendar: One of the most popular 'free from' advent calendar every year is the Moo Free Dairy Free Advent Calendar. It is dairy free, gluten free, wheat free, lactose free, soya free, GM free and vegan. Last year it wasn't very widely available, with Waitrose being the only supermarket to stock it. However this year you can get it in lots of the big supermarkets. The best price is at £3 at Asda* (in stores only), then £3.50 at Morrisons*, or Sainsbury's* are charging £4.75 (in stores only). Ocado* also have it, though it's even more at £4.99. Stocks do seem very scarce, so if you're struggling to get them in your supermarket you can also buy at Amazon*. I did see the Moo Free Advent Calendar in my local Asda for £3, so that's by far the best price if you can get hold of one there.
Holland and Barrett sell two different own brand dairy free advent calendars, a Dairy Free Red Advent Calendar*, and a Dairy Free Blue Advent Calendar*. Both are dairy free, vegan friendly and organic, and are prices at £3.99 each. Holland and Barrett also sell an own brand No Added Sugar Advent Calendar* at £3.99.
Another alternative is the Plamil Dairy Free Advent Calendar or Plamil No Added Sugar Advent Calendar, though those are much more difficult to get hold of. They are available direct from Plamil at a price of £4.95, and may be available in independent health food stores.
Tesco also sell a Chocologic Free From Advent Calendar*, and although it is showing as currently unavailable online it may be in some stores.
