This might be music to your ears if your child has a pair of pricy headphones on their Christmas wish list this year – Aldi* has launched a tech range just in time for Chrimbo, and it could save you some serious pennies. (The rose gold headphones have sold out online but are available to buy in store, and you can still get them in black or white online. Free standard delivery, too!)
The Sun reports:
ALDI has just launched a new range of retro tech for Christmas and it includes wireless headphones that look very similar to the ones from Beats but for a discount price. The bargain retailer's headphones are available in glossy black, white or trendy rose gold for just £16.99. That's about £200 cheaper than Beats by Dre Solo3 gold wireless headphones which are selling for £219.99 on Argos.
The budget headphones are compatible with all Bluetooth-enabled devices and come with a rechargeable battery supplied.
Now, the only question is whether the average discerning tween or teen will turn their nose up at Santa delivering a budget supermarket version of the item that everyone's after this year. They'd better not in my house – much as I love to make Christmas as magical as possible, I'm not usually one for shelling out hundreds of pounds on something if a cheaper brand version is just as good.
I make exceptions, of course, when it comes to certain brands whose products are obviously superior quality than various cheap imitations, but when my kids are of an age where they're still likely to lose or break their stuff, I'm definitely going to be letting Santa know that the Aldi headphones will do just fine.
What about you? Are you a stickler for finding cheaper alternatives to the pricey items on your kids' Christmas wish lists, or do you think you tend to get what you pay for if you go for desiger brands?
