The Lowdown On Black Friday: Where Can You Expect The Best Deals?

The Lowdown On Black Friday: Where Can You Expect The Best Deals?

Black Friday is nearly upon us and we cannot wait until we can whip out our debit cards and snap up some serious bargains. This year it's on Friday 27th November. The High Street stores like to keep it under wraps, what they plan to do for the retail event of the year. However we have the lowdown on who is in, who is out (boo!) and what we can expect. Keep checking this post for regular updates on Black Friday.

Amazon*: As well as promising their biggest ever Black Friday, they are also promising 10 days of offers in the run up to Black Friday with new deals every 10 minutes starting from Wednesday 18th November. Many of these will include early access for Prime Members so if you want to get first chance at the offers now is a good time to take out that free month trial*!

Argos*: Oooh! Argos are in on Black Friday and are being very hush, hush on what's going to be on offer. We do know that they will be mixing it up with offers on items from most departments. Sign up to be one of the first to find out about Black Friday at Argos, here*.

Boots*: We are super excited that Boots will be getting involved in this year's Black Friday. All we know is there will be a mixture of items included in the offers and you can expect to see big discounts on Electrical Beauty. Deals will be on in store as well as online.

Currys/PC World*: This Electronics retailer is aiming to be bigger and better than last year. Apparently, it's going to be so good that even their store colleagues won't know what the deals are until the day before. We think they are one to watch if you need a new Television. Remember to actively exercise the Currys/PC World's Price Promise, if you find a great deal elsewhere, Currys/PC World will match it. Register here*, to be one of the first to find out what those Black Friday deals will be.

Halfords*: They are promising to be BIGGER and BETTER than last year. A bold statement and we don't doubt them for a second. They are even running a Black Friday Competition with £1500 worth of prizes. We know for a fact that there will be Bikes, Car Seats and Sat Navs included, so if they are on your Santa List then Halfords is the place to be.

House of Fraser*: Woo hoo! They are doing Black Friday and will have offers across most departments. Got a Recognition Card? Your Black Friday offers may be enhanced so watch your email inbox. For those of you that haven't, why not sign up to the HOF Newsletter for the latest Black Friday news*?

John Lewis*: The only details we know is that they planning on doing Black Friday in style and will be trying their best not to release any details of offers until the day itself to prevent mass crowds causing riot a la Asda 2014. The deals will be accessible online as well as in store. John Lewis also encourage the use of their 'never knowingly undersold' policy, so if you find a bargain elsewhere get John Lewis to price match.

Lidl*: German owned supermarket Lidl are keeping us on tenterhooks as they hint that although it is highly unlikely that they will run anything on Black Friday itself, they will be having something special on the Thursday before. We cannot wait to see what it is!!

Marks and Spencer*: They say there will be some 'jaw-dropping' sales so we are fairly excited about that. An M&S employee suggested that we may see anything from cosmetics to televisions included.

Sainsbury's*: The orange supermarket has confirmed that they will be taking part this year but are keeping their deals close to their chests until nearer the date. It was suggested to us that it will be mostly Electronics included in the Black Friday Event.

Tesco/Tesco Direct*: Tesco are promising better and more bargains than their Boxing Day Sale. With £15 million worth of deals spanned across FIVE departments. Those included are Electronics, Entertainment, DIY, Mobiles and Toys. There will be a leading brand Coffee Maker slashed in price by 70% and certain LED HD Ready Televisions will have 50% off. Good news for those of you looking for a games console... Tesco will have some Black Friday Deals on some Console Bundles. What those will be made up of remains to be seen. Click and Collect will be available on Tesco Direct Black Friday offers from one minute past Midnight. Stores will be open at their usual opening times. Any 24 hour Tesco stores were going to launch Black Friday at midnight, but we have now heard that this may be changed to 5am. Some stores will not be participating, but it is thought that those will be Metros and smaller Tesco stores.

Very*: These guys knocked it out of the park last year with their awesome Black Friday deals, and they are promising to do the same this year. We will be keeping our eyes peeled for those bargain Hair Straighteners, Bikes, Toys and more.

Game*: The gaming retailer are promising their biggest ever Black Friday Weekend with huge offers from Friday 27th to Monday 30th, and as well as that there will be exclusive Black Friday deals sent to email subscribers beginning on 22nd November as well.

Costco*: Their Black Friday event will be running from the 23rd November with new deals every day and three 'waves' of limited stock offers on the big day itself. If you haven't shopped with Costco before you do need to be a member to do so, but leaving it until Black Friday for membership may be too late so it might be worth looking at that now. Non members can buy, but at an extra 5% cost from what we understand.

B&M Stores*: Although you can't buy online, the B&M website will be revealing a deal a day from 23rd November so we know what will be coming on the Friday. As well as several big offers on Electrical, Furniture, Homeware and Toys stores will also be holding 10% off events including just about everything in the shop! Most are taking part from 5pm until 10pm on 27th November, but please check with your local store as that may vary.

Poundland*: Yes, even Poundland are taking part this year, with early access to their Black Friday deals available now!

Who won't be taking part in this year's Black Friday?

Aldi*: As we expected, Aldi will not be participating in Black Friday at all. There reason is that all of their products are already available at discounted prices.

Asda*: The Walmart owned supermarket shockingly announced that they will not be holding any special Black Friday Deals but will have offers running from now until Christmas.

Morrisons*: We can't help but feel disappointed that Morrison's won't be giving us some of those Black Friday savings but have hinted that they will have some great deals on Alcohol in the run up to Christmas. Perhaps, on that basis we can forgive them.
