There are four pieces to each puzzle making them ideal for little hands and little people. They're made from strong wood, so would  hopefully be able to withstand some time being gummed, although they're not made for eating.

Puzzles are said to help develop fine motor skills and logic, so that's a great, fun way to start and I loved doing puzzles with my daughter when I didn't really know how else to entertain her.

There are coloured borders for a guide so you know which puzzle goes with which and the pieces are cut differently so they only fit the correct way.
