Don't forget, while you're planning your Easter weekend, that the National Trust has it's annual Easter Egg Trail happening again this year. What day, what times, and what activities are available will vary by location, so head over to the website below to see what's on where you are. Regular entry fees apply, with £1.50 for the trail
If you're going as a family, make sure to check the membership rates for National Trust too, as sometimes you can end up spending not far off what you would for an annual membership. If you have young children it could be worth buying an Individual membership, for example, as your under 5's go free. If you have children under 12, the £30 annual fee for them may be cheaper than a few entries a year - depending on property.
The National Trust has changed a lot in recent years, and some of the best playgrounds we've been to have been in National Trust grounds. While you're there, pick up your 50 Things Things to Do Before You're 11 3/4 booklets too, and prepare for a cheap summer full of fun activities that don't have to cost you anything on the day.
